INTELLIGENT NETWORK SERVICES BUILDS SMALL BUSINESSES WITHOUT BREAKING THE BANK

San Jose, CA – May 30, 2007 – “Contracting IT support for a small business is a very smart decision, unless the core competency of the business is in IT,” says Thomas Burns, founder of Intelligent Network Services. “Building a small business is hard work. Especially in the early days of the company, a few people are trying to do everything. Our experience is that these are the kinds of people who create new products or services. They are not the people with the breadth of technology knowledge to build their own infrastructure.”

In a world in which new technologies emerge daily, keeping up with change is a full time job. Knowing which systems and which applications will meet the needs of a growing business in the present and in the future requires knowledge, experience, and technological skills. Unfortunately, none of that is free. There are three ways to respond to the need of a small business for technology infrastructure.

(1) Try to do everything with the existing staff. This usually means the founder of the company goes to a computer store, explains the perceived needs of the business, buys the recommended hardware and software, and then tries to make everything work.

(2) Hire a team of experienced, knowledgeable IT professionals. This option requires both time and money. The company must find qualified people, hire them, provide work space and equipment, and pay salary, social security, benefits, etc.

(3) Contract with an IT services company, such as INS. The IT services company allows the company principals to create and sell products and/or services and grow the business while they design the best system for the current and future needs of the business, install equipment, set up systems, applications, websites, and create the networks and connections that allow everything to work smoothly.

The first option is almost guaranteed to be a road to disaster. The second option will probably break the bank. But hiring an IT services company will probably prove to be the most efficient and cost-effective solution to the technology needs of a small business. Contracting with an IT services company like INS provides the best fit of technology with business objectives, and eliminates the need for small business principals to worry.
