An example would be of a company moving locations. Listed
below are just some of the areas needing to be managed:
- Internet Connection - Many people are not aware that,
depending on the type of Internet connection they will be
getting, that the order must be placed a minimum of 30 days in
advance. In some instances, such as T-1 connections, they
need to be ordered as much as 60 days in advance. The line
should be tested a week or two before the move to ensure there
is time for any needed changes.
- Server Room Power Requirements - Because the power
load that servers can require, dedicated circuits and sometimes
non-standard power outlets are called for. This must be
ordered and installed during any other construction.
- Data and Telephone Cabling - A building must be
inspected to check for existing cabling and to determine if
additional cabling is required.
- Moving the Computers and network hardware - A moving
company can usually move the workstations, but it is recommended
using a company that is experienced in this area.
